Gmail with MS outlook and Gmail Notifier
This topic is completely different to the last one I posted to this forum. And it is not worth to search all messy topics in all forum of google community just to solve my very small problem.
So I want to ask more, hoping that I can make some contribution to this forum in terms of content of the thread and culture variety My Questions are: 1. In my point of view, Gmail notifier is to notify its user that he is obtaining new emails in Gmail webmail. But the fact that I am still notified that there are new emails though I read it already in MS outlook. What is the problem? 2. How to do with MS outlook 2003 to ensure that all emails I read in MS outlook do not appear in Gmail Notifier at all? 3. Besides, I once had to suffer from using dial up with very very slow speed in Vietnam ( around 56Mbps) I set up gmail to my MS outlook successfully but completely failed to send and receive emails. The processes of sending and receiving were interupted by internet transmition as far as I know. So my QUESTION is that: Does Gmail work well with MS outlook 2003 with the downloading speed of 56Mbps? Thank you, I am waiting for your kind replies and hope to see them soon Hai --------- Followings are what I have read but not enough. Please,if you guys have time, help me out of problem with Gmail and MS outlook!I posted my question in unpropriate forum so now I have to copy all of them Posted by DrakeWurrum: ...the reason the Notifier still notifies you about new e-mails, even though you read them in Outlook, is because the e-mails in Outlook are actually stored on your computer, while Notifier checks the e-mails on the actual Gmail account. If you're going to download the e-mail to your computer instead of browsing your Gmail through the web site, you don't need to use the Notifier. There's supposed to be a way to turn it off, but I'm not at home, so I can't check to make sure I'm right. I suggest that you use Mozilla Thunderbird for e-mail instead of MS Outlook. |

Thank you, Sir
I know what you mean. I launched out these questions because I compared Gmail to my other email. For example, I am working with hai@equestgroup.com. Whenever I finished downloading and opening my emails in MS outlook 2003, I opened the webmail and found out that those emails were not highlighted there. And the emails which were uncovered in the outlook were highlighted. About Gmail Notifier, it only appear any email which is not read ( or not highlighted) in webmail. What to solve with Gmail Notifier and Outlook to not spend user's energy on observing emails he read shown on the Notifier So that is the point I want to speak out |

Well, if you're going to use Outlook to view your e-mail, you really don't need to use the webmail, and if you're not going to use webmail, you don't need to use Gmail Notifier.
I personally think it's pointless to use Gmail and then not use it through a web browser, as using Outlook kinda removes all of the fancy features from it. |
