Gmail for mobile application attachment help

Hi,
I have a Blackberry Pearl and have downloaded the Gmail for mobile application. When I open up a pdf, excel spreadsheet, word document, or powerpoint attachment the formatting is not correct, no images are shown, and there is just one long string of text. Also, I am unable to save attachments such as jpegs. Is there anyway to solve this problem or should I switch back to using Blackberry's email program?

You should switch back. The Gmail viewer is really limited. I use the Gmail application on my Pearl because I like it. Most of the email that I get happens to be just plain text. There is no way to solve the problem. Google must improve the application and the viewer. Doesn't seem like that is going to happen.

Thank you! I have switched back to BIS to recieve me emails. However, I still kept the gmail app because I can access all of my contacts and search through old email with it.
