gmail to myself will not com back to outlook express

I read all my email in outlook express. Often, when sending pictures, I will add myself to my BCC to be sure they look ok.

The message shows up on my gmail account, but will not come back to me when I read my gmail messages into outlook express.

All messages sent to my gmail id by others seem to be coming into outlook express fine.

Is there a setting I can change to get my own messages to come back to me as I expect them to?

You are using POP access right? Emails that you send to yourself and access through OE will not show up in your inbox if you use POP access. They will be in your OE sent folder. To get that message to show in your inbox in OE you need to use IMAP access.

Yes, in outlook express I use POP3 in properties/servers/"incoming mail server is a POP3 server" for my gmail id (as well as my isp ids).

I'm not familiar with IMAP. Is that the only place I would put IMAP instead of POP3? It sounds simple enough, but can you give me a bit more information as to what I'm doing?

You would have to set up your account again as IMAP I believe, not just change settings. I'm not at all familiar with OE mail settings though.

I can tell you that OE is very flaky with IMAP, much more so than Outlook is. If you go this route you might be best served to look at a more modern email client like Thunderbird or Windows Live Mail.
