Move mail from gmail to google apps mail.

I have been using gmail since 2004 and about a year ago I signed up for a google apps account, I wanted to be able to access my old mail so I just set my google apps mail to forward all the mails to my gmail account.
This has been working ok, I have been getting the mails sent to my domain and have been able to send mails with that name.
But there is a drawback, I can't use my custom email address for google chat, etc.
So that's why I'm wondering if I can move all the mail currently in my gmail account to the google apps account.
I have tried letting google apps fetch the gmail via pop, but that only receives mails sent to me and not the mails I have sent, and it won't move my drafts and contacts... So that's kinda useless.

Is there any other method, or do I have to stick with my gmail account forever?

Thanks.

You can go to settings page to set up the email settings to get it. But I dont know this is connect with google chat with your custom email address. It cannot possible.

Check out YippieMove. That's what I used when I switched from Gmail to Google Apps. It won't solve the contact issue though (but that's easy -- just export them and import them in the GA account). It will however transfer all your emails, including sent and drafts.
