Helpful TIP! Log in and go to your inbox with one click

Want to log in and go to your gmail inbox with one click? Make a bookmark pointing to this.. be sure to change USERNAME and PASSWORD to your credentials.

https://www.google.com/accounts/Serv...?service=mail&
passive=true&continue=http://mail.google.com&
Email=USERNAME&Passwd=PASSWORD

this is very handy for if you have multiple gmail inboxes and want to switch back and forth between them.

Yes, that does look like a convenient way of logging in. Now that you mention it, it seems kind of obvious.
But a lot of things do, after someone else mentions them. Thanks for the tip.

Yeah...

Yeah, you're right, dep. It would be really easy. A person's GMail inbox just a click away...

In fact...

It's not only nice, but very nice, dep. Though it seems very obvious (as mondine said), I was wondering if you could tell me how and when you came to find and know this?

Well, not quite as obvious as one would think. The "service, passive and continue" flags are not documented anywhere, but I was using an extension for my favorite chat client, Miranda, called "Multiple Gmail Account notifier." Simple enough app.. Checked your multiple gmail inboxes and told you if you had new mail. What was cool was, you could double-click on a specific inbox in your buddy list window and it would open your inbox in your web browser. Really neat. What i noticed immediately was the URL string it passed to the web browser when the browser opened.

So I copied/pasted that and put it in to a bookmark.

Then, one day, it stopped working. I figure they changed something on the backend. After playing around with the flags a little bit (specifically, the "continue" flag), I got it working again. Hopefully this link will work for awhile.

Quite...

Quite alot of experimenting you did, dep. But in the end, as I can see for myself, I really paid off for good.
