Stupid gmail

Has anyone else been recieving server errors recently because for the last 10 days I have not been able to access my gmail account properly. And it's all very frustrating.

What is the point in having 2.5 gig worth of storage when you can't access any of it. What's the point in having a beta version that has so many world wide users?????

And I can't get hold of anyone at google because all I get is an automated reply. Stupid f*******************

It's not a browser problem, it doesn't work at work (i.e.) or home (firefox). It's not a spyware/adware problem, both at work and home PCs are clean (I've never downloaded any toolbars and I use four, yes four, anti-adware/spyware programs), I've cleared cache and cookies for both work and home, tried logging on via google.com, secure login, EVERYTHING!

It's google's incompetence, the sooner I get rid of my gmail the better.

mondine is an unknown quantity at this point
No, I haven't experienced any problems. It's usually quite reliable.

It may be helpful if you could note the exact error message that you're getting. That's usually the best indicator of what the particular problem is.

Also, you mention that you can't access your account "properly". Does this mean 'sometimes' or 'not at all'?

And, what's your general location? (It might be pertinent,)

The error is a server error, their servor error. "Whoops we are unable to connect you, please try again." Or something to that effect.

It's very hit and miss whether I can login or not. And if I can login I find it difficult to open up the mail. Server error. I would post a screen shot but I managed to get in again :P If anyone else is having these problems try https://gmail.google.com/ found the solution via google Incedently I still needed to refresh the page over 5 minutes before I could access my mail

It's very frustrating because this has been happening over the past week or so, so apologies for the tearsness of my previous post. It's very annoying that the only email address I had for getting in contact with google/gmail had an automated reply.

Just in case it does help I'm based in the UK, I remember having similar problems about 6 months ago when the gmail invites started going crazy, but they managed to sort out the problems fairly quickly. I have learnt my lesson though and I've turned my forwarding on, and if things don't improve I will be abandoning my 2.5 gig worth of mail

I don't know if this applies to you or not, but I know that some people have had problems due to using the wrong 'view'.
When you do get logged in, try changing the one you're using at the bottom of the page where it says:
Code:
Gmail view: standard | basic HTML
Might be worth a try.

Also, you may want to consider going into the options and enabling POP3 access. Perhaps you'd have better luck accessing it with a 'regular' email client.

Guys..
what do you think of this........
using gmail is entirely up to you..
but... i personally think, you wouldn't get more reliable service than G.
just think about the fast time loading, space, continuous upgrading for its customers....
and do remember that Gmail is still in beta version..

fast loading time, yes
space, yes
continuous upgrading, yes
reliable? not a chance
Support???? What support? A few FAQs and that's it.

mondine - cheers for the suggestion. It's not that for me.

When it happens again, because as I said it's been hit and miss for the past week/10 days, I'll post a screen shot.

Google allows you to e-mail them. They don't say anything about being fast nor are they paid to reply to your questions fast.
