Gmail Color Schemes

http://www.skingmail.com/

You can completely change the way Gmail looks!

I haven't tried it, but thought it would be something interesting to post.

Best Regards,

There was also a thread about skinning Gmail a while back, that mentions another site:

Yeah, mondine, there is another topic which is about GMail skins, and it mentions another site, but nobody tried it out because according to the Terms of Service (of GMail), you are not allowed to skin GMail. Bad luck, FFVII.Cloud.182.

But there is one think I noticed on the site you mentioned, FFVII.Cloud.182. On the homepage itself, you learn that GMail skinning is a method they (the creators of the site) discovered on the persistent.info blog, which is the site mentioned on the topic that mondine mentioned. You may call it a coincidence.

Well, according to Lupine1647, Google can't understand whether you're skinning GMail or not, because... ummm... go here to find out.

re-skinning

I know some people don't like the way gmail looks but i can't see why you would want to re-skin it anyways. Gmail is simple to use, and they want to keep it that way. Having skins and stuff like that only adds to the complicated nature of other mail clients. After all you don't have to log into your gmail account to get your mail, just use thunderbird or something and skin that. on a personal note i love the way it looks, it appears the exact same no matter what browser you use and i like that cause i go from mac to windows to linux to solaris and no change. Good on Google!

Well, I kind of agree with you, davekeogh. GMail's look is very good, and skinning it will make it look bad. In my opinion, it's current look cannot be matched by any e-mail service or mail-client. It's look is er... simply amazing. I just posted on this topic to dissuade the members from skinning GMail. And I stand successful, too.

Yes, although I think the urge to experiment is generally a good thing, sometimes doing things 'just because you can' doesn't achieve any really useful results.
