Google Multiple email addresses

Can anyone tell me if I can have multiple google email addresses on the same google account or do I have to open a new account for each address

I have one google account with one email address. I want another email address with a different name. Do I open a seperate google account to do this or is there a way of having one account with another google email address on it. I.e. is one email address one account and therefore if I have two email addresses I automatically need two accounts?

log into your gmail account. Click on settings located at the top right hand corner. Then click on accounts followed by 'Add another email address you own.'
