Question Help Signing In To Gmail Account

Sorry for the repost, but my previous one isn't showing up.
I'm using IE8, and can not login to GMail.
When I try going into my Gmail, it keeps redirecting for a minute, then I get "Request-URI Too Large"

I have checked my clock, and it's set to the correct time. I've cleared all temp and cache files as well.
I can view my Calendar, and Documents and all other areas of Google, but not GMail. Can anyone help?

Thanks!

Try a different browser

Might be because of some viruses.

Are you still having that problem..

If its a google bug it should get corrected by itself

I had Firefox already loaded, and tried it. It worked perfectly. I wouldn't mind this, but my IE8 is 64 bit, and I really want to continue to use it.
I tried everything I could find on this error. Some said resetting the clock helped. I made sure the clock was set correctly, and it was. So I toggled it so it was off by a week, a day, a hour, and minute. Setting the clock didn't help.
Another said to delete (or clear) cookies. I deleted all cookies, browser history, and password history. This did help. I did get the login screen, but when I filled in the login and clicked submit, I was right back to this same damn error.
It was getting so frustrating. I finally did a "System Restore" to my previous month. This was the only fix.

Thanks for your reply.

Exclamation

This is not an option, as I have registered this email address over so many websites, and forums. Starting another email address would be painstaking.
