No Humans @ Google?
I am starting to think there is only 2 people running Google. The Boss and the operator (and I even thing the operator might be automated).
I recently started trying to clear out my spam messages (at least as much as is possible). Turns out there are two specific types of Spam that I could not get rid off. Apparently it is against the law to send a spam without allowing the ability to unsubscribe. Well, from the Canadian Meds website you cannot unsubscribe. Also are those pesky nigerian scam messages. Now I have searched the website (with Google) Looking for ways to get rid of those messages and the only recommendations I get are to forward the messages to SPAM@ftc.org. Well I have been doing that, but it is a slow and painful process from GMAIL because I get maybe 20-30 Junk Mail per hour. So I decided to call Google, they will know what to do GOOGLE KNOWS EVERYTHING! Well I go to Googles Support Page, guess what... nothing there is helpful at all. So I figure, I will send someone a Gmail, surely they use Gmail right? Nope, no email addresses either. So I figured, maybe they don't want all the spam forwarded to their own email, so I will just give them a call. Wouldn't you know there isn't a single phone number listed on their support page. So guess what..... YUP, I GOOGLED IT! I found their telephone number to the Google offices in California. Gave them a call and..... automated message system. Undetered, I sat on the line... there has to be a live person, they are selling stuff, which means they need to make money, which means a PERSON wants that money. So after 5 minutes of choices, I finally click on the "0" and lo and behold I get the operator. The operator says, "welcome to Google, how can I direct your call?." I said," to a live person I can speak to regarding my Gmail Account." She said, "Gmail has a support page at Gmail Help I told her, I know about that, but I need to speak to a live customer support that page doesn't answer my question. She repeated Gmail has a support page. I told her, isn't there anyone live that I can speak to, or a email address and she repeated the same statement. I told her, so basically what your telling me is to quit using Gmail? Again, she repeated the same phrase. I am not even sure she was real. Anyways, enough stories. I have been an avid Google supporter for what... 10 years now. I tell everyone Google this, google that. Yahoo sucks, so does AOL. My word of mouth like many other Google supporters is what put Google on the map. Never in a million years did I think that there was no Great Wizard behind the curtain. There are many suggestions that I think would help Gmail/Google with their email problems as I am sure many others do, but no way to convey them rather than this forum. I am sure that just as easy as I supported Google to get them here, I can unsupport them and go back to a Microsoft HumanBING! I am sure that I can also convince my friends and family to quit using gmail as well. |

Of course they won't speak with you. How could they possibly offer technical support by phone for a product they give a way for free.
I have several friends working over at Google and they do indeed offer support. Just not to their free users. |
