Filtering emails into different folders?

I see that there is a way to automatically filter emails into different labels, but is there a way to filter emails into different folders so that they don't all show up in the inbox?

Your help would be appreciated.

yah.,
by generally it can't show inbox.
but,you can create to send "star it"....

Someone on Google Help recommended this solution:
"Yes. The filters have an option to skip the inbox. Choose that."

And it worked.

well, i guess that only complicate the whole thing
and sometimes the category of an email can only be decided a catogory by u imho
