When do you get Gmail invites?

THis is a question for those of you, who have a Gmail account:

When do you, as a Gmail member, get invites to give out? Do they give them to everybody, or is that only for some random people?

Colwwcat, they give them out randomly to people at random times. They also give out a random amount (Usually from 1-6). There's just a little box at the bottom left screen which shows up from time to time saying "Invite x friends
to Gmail". Right now, Google seems to be giving less invites. However, a few months ago Google gave gmails very frequently to pretty much everyone.
