It is, after all, still officially in "Beta". There are enough people now,
complaining whenever there's a 'lack of service', despite knowing that it's a self-acknowledged work in progress.

Besides, with the hundreds of Gmail invites allowed to Gmail users, and the thousands that have been sent out,
it is virtually open to anyone tht is really interested in getting an account.

The road is far from being "empty".

still many dont know dear

ok , i understand u , but this community , this email server has only 10% of all the internt users , i didnt even knew the full form of g in word gmail, some couple of weeks before , many people who r masters of internet , even dont know what is gmail, thats the fact dear , well google if wants to compete globally , should make registrations onspot, without this invitation things , i can also open a huge server and limit the users to gain maximum performance etc etc.... but competition is showing maximum performance even in maximum users presence , which gooogle is not capable.

Sheer volume for the sake of volume is a dubious measure of 'success'.
A long-term market strategy of delivering well-supported, quality features will ensure the enduring success and protect the value of a good product name.

And by the way, I'm a 47-year-old adult male, and my wife is the only person that calls me "dear". Such over-familiarity from strangers is quite rude, and condescending.

Well sorry,

well sorry , actually i am just 16 years old , and i have a habit to call other person dear , which makes him close to other , actually it creates a sense of relationship with other and that discussion becomes just like a discussion with your relative rather than arguing to other user behind this screen. Well but still I am sorry.

All right, thank you for that. I suppose it is just one of those cultural misunderstandings
that can occur when people communicate from various parts of the world.
No hard feelings, then.

Google limits the registration to invite only because it's one way to cut down on the spammers and such. As well, the whole invite thing has been great for Google. Also, please cite your sources where it says Google has so and so percent of e-mail users.

I believe that there will be "on-the-spot" registrations when Google decides to make GMail "public".

einsteinisgaurav, yourEngrish is great!

Anyways, I think that having the invites is great, it only allows people to join who really want to join... I think it allows the servers to be cleared up of many spam accounts, and people who just have it for no reason... I like how not everyone is a member... It makes me feel... special o_O lol
Just my oppinion... And I wasn't trying to be an ass with the engrish thing, I just thought it was funny...[/url]
