is Gmail worth it?

Well as i can see most people want Gmail just to show off I think, but is Gmail really worth it like its showing? Is it fast/slow, had any problems with it and works smoothly or is in construction with some thing.

Because hotmail is also gonna upgrade soon to much more mb, and yahoo is gonna aswell as I heard. So, what's the best? Gmail, Hotmail or Yahoo.

Im using Hotmail since a long time, and once saw Gmail @ my friends a time ago, and am thinking to change it to Gmail or keep it @ hotmail. What do you think? shall I transfer my email to Gmail or keep it at hotmail?

Im waiting for your alls opinion (sorry for my bad English)

Thanks

Nice question yours, specially taking into account that this is Google Community

Yes, I could give you many different reasons why Gmail is a worthy service, but I'll just summerize many of the opinions given by the members of this forum.

Search for a while and you'll find some threads in which GC members express why they like Gmail.

The moment you gat your Gmail account you start forgetting Hotmail, so you know what to do

The best? Gmail.

Well, I havent really seen this brough up but for those hotmail and yahoo messenger users you still need a account with them to use the messenger service. Ya you can put them on the back burner in favor of G-Mail but not delete your accounts if you want to keep using the messengers.

Gmail, Hotmail, or Yahoo

I have been using Yahoo for three or four years now, I know my way around Yahoo! mail pretty well. But recently I got an invite from a nice girl who saw my post on gmailswap and thought it was funny.

I have only used it for a few days, but am already forgetting Yahoo mail. Gmail is much faster and reliable. And even though Yahoo has a program that tells me very quickly that I have an email, Gmail has found a way to change the title of the window in the Start Menu whenever I get an email, within a minute of receiveing the email. And the only bug I've gotten so far was that its highly dependent on javascript and doesn't support non-javascript users.

Therefore, I beleive Gmail to be the best currently, as I also love the system for emails. And I have a few invites I got that I can't use, and I'm willing to give you one if you PM me.

What makes me feel good at Gmail is that people are saying that Gmail beats every other email.

Now I am thinking, it's still in it's beta stages and already people who are saying it beats every other email providers.

Can't wait till Gmail's final stage will come out, I think it will surprise everyone and google's/gmail's popularity will increase dramatically (sorry for my bad English again)

Well, I assume Gmail is still in beta phase, so although we can see a few problems when connecting sometime (nothing serious) you get the idea that the service runs properly as if it were the definitive one.
Needless to say that Google want launch Gmail to everybody till they test every single detail, especially now that they are in the stock market...
