Starting today I can't get the Google Mail login page to load. Also, my Gmail notifier cannot connect. After several minutes I get a timeout message from my browser. I'm using Firefox on Mac OSX with internal modem connected at 28k. Any help would be appreciated.

Since this morning (Tuesday, Dec 6, 2005) I can't access the Gmail page either. I've tried on Mac OS X Safari, Firefox, Win XP IE.

What's up? Does anyone know? It's making me a little nervous.

They must be having some problems with their security upgrade - I'm sure they'll get it fixed soon. It WOULD be nice if they would put up some kind of message on their help page.

Well, as of 4:00pm today I can access Gmail again. Doing some reading and searching has led me to quite a few complaints of the same sort spanning over a year... Let's hope it's a diminishing issue.

Thanks for the reply, it helped to know I wasn't imagining it

likewise... we must be on the same server. First thing I did was to activate the forwarding service that Gmail offers to forward to another email account (Yahoo). That way, if/when it happens again, I'll get the messages.

mondine is an unknown quantity at this point
That's why I keep the POP3 option activated. I've never had that fail, even when the site was having a hissy-fit.
