"Cool"?

A spammy landing page that calls itself a "search engine", and serves up nothing but sponsored links?

It's the kind of page I'd ignore, and leave very quickly, if I found myself there by accident.

These kinds of garbage pages are a good part of what is wrong with searching.

No, it's not the 'usual' AdSense ads, but they are Google ads.
As myinnet pointed out, the destination of the links on the page begin with "http://www.google.com/pagead/iclk?sa=...."

I'm curious if anyone could shed light on the nature of this type of advertising deal.
To me, it just seems like the serving of ads on a non-content page.

There are many pages like this on the Net. People just buy domain names, and put up such ads listed in so-called directories. Most of the time, though, there's a connection between the ad content and the domain name. For example, espionage.com lists many ads on espionage, but can't really be called an absorbing site.

Then there are selfish domain name companies. When a domain name expires and is no longer used by the person who bought it, they put up such ads to gain money. I've seen many such sites. I've always stayed away from them.
