PPC costs driven up by high rollers?
Greetings
I have heard some people complain that wealthy marketers'bidding on the samekeywords as the little folk will drive up the cost of the keywords. Can that be true? |

It would seem fair, and I know as a fact that the admen had no intention of driving up costs per click for the little folks.
But if they did that unintentionally, then it would appear that Google has a seriously flawed system, wouldn't it? |

I don't think the flaw is at Google's system. It might be at the tourism office, not understanding their actions.
But when you think of it, it's always been that way. 10 years ago the tourism office would not have used AdWords, but would have placed ads in magazines, or in billboards or on TV. This would have ALSO driven the cost of these mediums, because they would have to compete against other advertisers. It's just that now everything is measurable, and now they are targeting specific keywords. Maybe that they should NOT target the maryland keywords, but rather all other tourism keywodrs (i.e. to attract tourists that did not consider maryland but might be persuaded). But it's for them to decide, not us |

AdWords is built on Quality Score and CTR. I spend almost 50K a
month on advertising with AdWords. But most of my keywords are actually VERY cheap. Why is this? You have to learn to use the system!br br Quality Score is VERY important. How relevant is your ad? How relevant is your landing page? Is it a custom landing page or a straight affiliate link? I personally have seen my CPC drop from $0.40 a click to $0.10 a click, just by making a few changes to my campaigns and landing pages.br br TEST, TEST, and TEST again!br br br |
