adsense in a real blog
I just started a blog, and want to add some adsense blocks to it. but its going to be a real blog, not a site for ads, so i don't want them everywhere and i don't want my visitors to think i want them to trick into clicking ads.
this is the address: http://www.sochi-travel.info/ right now i just have one, in the sidebar. and its obvious its the advertisement. my question is, on the site "for readers" not for random visitors, is it more effective to show your ads as ads, or its still better to blend them into the design in hopes reader will "miss" and click the ad? tia! |

Flamey,
It depends. Sometimes the ads can be helpful to your visitors, sometimes they are annoying. Blending can give you higher CTR, but more annoyed users. It's all about experimenting. If you intend this to be a 'real' blog, and not just for ads, then I suggest that you do use ads, but not in anyway that will annoy your users. Below the fold, and above it, or to the right/left, but inside content - that's my advice, anyway. |

Like the first reply stated, it all depends.
Personally, I believe in balance: I don't want my visitors "annoyed" with ads, and I do everything possible to have my adsense ads blend in. -s |
