How do Impressions work?

Hi,

I have a question thats been bugging me. Say someone searches on a keyword and it brings my ad up but only in page 5, does this count as an impression for me or is it only if the ad is on the page visible to the client?

This will make a big difference to my search results since I am using my campaigns to target audience in SA and UK. The rankings based on my CPC per keyword means in SA i am position 3 and in UK page 5!!

I also doubt for this.

Suppose Ad A display on my blog 999 times.

And the remain 1 time left never come again, becoz of that Ad gone from GooGle AdWords Programe.

It means i won't get money, correct or not.

Due to Ads also automatic change and alternated.

How come we can count it until it reaches to 1000 times display.

Please anybody tell me about it? Thank you
