I was wondering how much money do website owners get for a click on a google ad hosted on their site ?

I think it's about 3-30 cents per click. Which is quite a bit...it really can ad up!

so you don't get paid until somebody clicks it? cool... what if the owner just keeps clicking? there should be a IP log or something, right?

how much do you think the ads on GC are clicked? i think I've clicked them once or twice...

In affiliation (the displaying of ads on a web site), different companies (advertisers) pay you. Some pay on CPI (Cost Per Impression, usually about 1 impression to .001 cents), and others pay on CPC (Cost Per Click, usually about 1 click to 3-30 cents), and yet others pay on CPS (Cost Per Sale, usually a percentage, really varies!). Some pay on 1, 2, or all 3 ways. I'm not sure, but I think that Google probably does Cost Per Impression and Cost Per Click.

Your question about the owner doing that? Yes, they probably use: cookies, server side logging, etc. And they probably recognize when people just click 20 times, and count 1 click. I mean, we're talking GOOGLE, here! It MUST be pretty smart!

Google pays on a CPC (cost per click) basis only. CPS is usually called CPA (cost per action). Personally, I never click the ads on my own site. Not only is it against Google's TOS (terms of service), it cheats advertisers - so I don't. The Google ads on this site help to provide for the GC Shop, although CPC is generally pretty low.

Yea, I plan on hosting them on my site and I wouldnt click them either, but honestly Google DOES know if someone from the same IP just clicks a ad(the same one) 20 times, yea your right it IS google.

Also, Good thing for the google ads, i mean , I LOVE THE GC SHOP addition, thanks again Intelliot and Google Ads!

I use Google Ads aswell, and I have experience a good deal of comission from it.

I still wished they would pay you per page views though. I think people would get more off of it, and it would make it more fair for the users that post their ads on the page, which a lot of times, people are not intrested in clicking.

Advertisers pay per click, though, and Google just gives us a portion of that. So they don't really have an option to pay by impressions.

True, but they should be paying for impressions too. I have around 100,000 impressions, and still only $57.00.

Still, you have a good point about that.

It could be worse. About $57 per 100,000 impressions isn't bad. I've been getting only $38 for about 100,000 impressions. I guess people on my sites just don't click.
