AdSense now using PINs for verification

According to a poster at Webmasterworld:

As part of our effort to protect the accounts of AdSense publishers, we have mailed a Personal Identification Number to the address you provided upon signup. This PIN must be entered before payment can be issued to you. Your account is active, and you may show ads and accrue earnings before entering your PIN. If you have not received your PIN within 2 weeks, you may request that your PIN be resent. Click here to enter your PIN or request a reissue.

I haven't gotten my PIN yet though.

I have not received any PIN by mail and Google never responded to my two inquiries about the PIN. Is this some kind of scheme? I'm going to remove Google AdSense from my websites. I don't think they ever sent me a PIN - it is part of their scheme - PINs "get lost" in the mail so Google can delay payments for months in hopes to never pay us. (???)

its sounds like rubbish. i never got a PIN. never heard anything about this. i wouldn't worry about it.

... I guess I'll need to request a new one. I just can't understand how this happens sooo often, more than 50% of all PINS don't arrive at the first request.. c'mon.

How do we know when Google process our profits and send the mail?
