Hi there!
This is my first post in the forum, so excuse me if I am not following proper practices when asking the questions. Recently one of my Adwords Accounts was completely shut down in Google. This was a bit of a surprise as the reason they gave us was copyright and trademark violations. I advertise for many different products, with thousands of ad groups with a high daily spend. So why did they close my account for 24 dissaproved ads (maybe 6 of them had copyright voilations. This is fishy as I have had dissapproved ads in the past in other accounts (I hate to say) and the accounts are fine. Can I get some answers (hopefuly not ones I would hear from Google( but rather theorys and guesses as to why an account can be shut down so fast with no warnings. I had zero warning, the account had tens of thousands of clicks one day, then the next, zero...account shut down....reasons they gave me.... crap. Thanks for your time in helping me figure out what the heck happened. Last edited by pguide; 08-23-2007 at 09:06 AM. |

Hi,
"tens of thousands of clicks one day", is that in one day, thats prob the reason why, they might think that was fraud. Otherwise 1. Your websites did'nt provide any real useful content to users. 2. You were breaking copyright and someone reported you. 3. Someone repeatedly clicked on your ad's and Google thought it was you. 4. Someone copied your code to another site including your Adsence code and that site was breaking copyright. 5. Google could have received many spam reports about your site for spamming or copyright laws. 6. You changed the Adsence code for some reason. At the end of the day you will never know but there's a few examples. Hope that helps |

Sorry mate so you were,
OK theres very little info about, however it seems people get their accounts closed for no real reason, however if you were breaking copyright and they had already told you before then if the flagged is raised again it means a ban. The chances are that someone has reported you or that they have added new words to their system to look out for. BUT, if your doing that well, I would say that complaints have been made about you by a competitor, I have heard this in the past were for no reason they have been shut down from Adwords, some of these have been suggested for as little as poor customer service and that these people complain to Google stating that since the ad was on their site they should take some of the blame, and by the looks of it they are using the copyright trick on you. Or someone has complained to Google saying you have stolen content from their site and they can prove they own the copyrights, It only takes an email to Google and bang. Lots of companies have been slapped like this big and small. post a link to your site so I can have a look, and let me know if your still breaking the copyright rules.
