General Adsense Questions for 'Newbie'

Hi everyone.

This is my first post in this forum, so a big hello.

I hope you are able to give me some guideance relating to Adsense.

I joined the Adsense programme a while back and have been busily building some new websites that can incorporate adsense units in the sidebar, or across the page.

I should add that these sites are not yet completed and, as such, are not yet visible on the web.

Here are my questions.
I'd like to ask whether it's correct that I'm allowed only the total of three adsense units on my index, or home page?

Can I have up to three ad units on all the other pages of my web site too, or am I only allowed to place them on the index, or home page?

If I am allowed to place ads on all pages of my site, will the ad links be different in each unit - i.e: pointing to different sites - or are they likely to be just copies of the units on my index, or home page?

Can I place Amazon advert units and/or Yahoo! advert units on the same page as Google Ads?

I would also like to ask about a seperate issue.

Having spent so much money on setting up several schemes, I thought that it would be kinda nice to earn a bit back.

I mean, what's wrong with that, eh?

I recently purchased an item from eBay - '450 Pre-built Adsense Optimised Webpages'.

Each page has content relating to a specific subject and invites Google Ads to be inserted down the sides of the page.

There are a lot of adverts for Adsense websites/webpages on eBay, and across the web.

The product info sounds very promising and suggests that these optimised pages are able to earn good money under the Adsense scheme.

I have been studying how to insert my Adsense code and preparing to upload the pages to my hosting account, before sitting back and, as the eBay adverts say, 'watching the big bucks roll in'.

Sounds almost too good to be true. Probably because it is.

O.K, so I probably got duped. But hey, I bet I won't be the first!

Yesterday, I came upon another site selling Pre-built Adsense pages and in the small print I noticed that it said something like 'the seller of these pages cannot guarantee that in using them you will not be banned from Google Adsense.

Gosh, I thought. Is this likely?

After some investigation I have now reached a point where I am not certain what to believe.

I need to earn some money, so using the pages seems very appealing.

After all, each page does have relevant content and seems properly laid-out.

However, I have read that pages produced purely for the purpose of inviting Google Adsense adverts are frowned upon by Google, and that using them may cost me my account.

Surely the purpose of Adsense is to allow its advertisers to gain maximum visibility, which means that the more pages that display their adverts across the web the better.

By adding these 450 Adsense pages to the web, surely I'd be offering yet more pages that advertisers could use to pass on their message. In return, I earn money.

What's essentially wrong with this?

It would be a bit like telling the owners of a supermarket that they can't open a new store simply because they already have a hundred others.

After-all, business is all about growth.

If I were to spend a year building 450 new pages that have content relating to different topics - i.e: homecare, gardening, health & beauty, food, etc. - and then include them as pages in a kind of directory site, surely this would be allowed by google.

So, what is the problem with using pre-built pages?

In the event that such pre-built pages are O.K to use, then there's no problem.

If they are not O.K to use, then shouldn't eBay ban the sale of them?

Can anyone here give me some useful advice on how to make lots of money with Adsense (the kind of amounts that the eBay ads would lead you to believe is possible) whilst remaining within the guidelines?

Wouldn't it be refreshing if, just for once, it were possible to set-up a lawful, easy to implement programme (something that doesn't need special skills and take months to build) that earns money from day one.

Seems to me that giants like Google want people to join up to their schemes, but then can't wait to pile on endless rules and regulations that make it virtually impossible to earn anything.

I mean, what's the point?!
Any feedback and suggestions gratefully received.
