New Revenue Stream for Sites/Blogs about Adsense/YPN/Marketi

Hi All-

After a fabulous idea from a fellow I met on this forum, I've implemented an affiliate program for my site, Iotaweb.org (a search engine for Adsense and YPN values).

It works like this-- At the signup form, you'll be given a snippet of html code you can paste onto your web site. If anyone does a search for adsense/ypn keywords from this form, there is a 50% chance that the page it sends them to (and ANY subsequent pages the user views during that session with Iotaweb).

I'm JUST launching this program, so I'd really be interested in feedback from you guys, specifically:

1) Is it clear how it works?
2) Is the signup process easy/obvious?
3) Do you understand how to install the code?
4) Is the search box decent looking?
5) Should I allow people to adjust the HTML of the search box?

http://www.iotaweb.org/affiliate.html

That's where the info is-- there's a link to get started if you have interest. Feel free to reply to this thread if you have any thoughts, questions, or recommendations!

Warm regards,

Nice Idea, I run a "real" keyword value site. I check some numbers and we are very close. Good to see you didn't buy a list

My only concern would be Adsense TOS
"Code Modification

Any AdSense ad code or search box code must be pasted directly into Web pages without modification. AdSense participants are not allowed to alter any portion of the ad code or change the layout, behavior, targeting, or delivery of ads for any reason."

Have you check with adsense yet. If not why not do the whole code instead of ID only. I know some people would try to take advantage. But if you put a max size. It would only hurt them to give you the wrong size.

I think you need more assurance as to it's adsense acceptance.

Good Idea though.

Adsense Permission!

Absolutely!

Believe me, that was my first concern. The idea was inspired by a user suggestion and then refined when I noticed that that Digital Point (the forum) has a similar program. The first thing I did was email Google with an "Is this okay?" email. I received an affirmative response.

http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1758

There's a thread where a person posted their response from Google.

To quote:

"Currently, it is not against AdSense program policies to display ad code
from other publisher's on your sites. You can review our complete program
policies at https://www.google.com/adsense/policies."

Every other example of sites that use this idea (there are quite a few forums that do, now), use ONLY the Adsense ID#-- not the full code.

I agree, however, that I ought to make people a little more comfortable that I'm inside the boundries of Adsense ToS. I wrote my pages before I had received a reply from Google. I'm going to adjust my info page accordingly.

Warm regards,

Oh yeah!

Forgot the address the keyword value thang.

Yep, I take the veracity of the information pretty seriously.

I created the site (kinda) on a whim. I run a travel site at www.craftytraveler.com and was curious which travel destinations I should solicit articles for to get high-payout ads...

As I hunted around, I couldn't find any resources that allowed for easy topical searching. So I made one.

I think a lotta lists try to serve the people asking the question:

"What topic should I write about to make a million dollars?"

I try to answer the question:

"I already have a topic I love, are there any ways I can adjust my writing to generate slightly better ads?"

Regards,

Right now it's in the same browser-- though I think I'd probably get more interest if it was in a new window. I shall make that happen within a day or two! I'll email out a code adjustment to the folks who have already signed up...

Hi,

I just added your search box to my site.
it is here:

May I ask you if you are getting many clicks to the adsense ads that are shown on the results pages?
