How to boost your CTR

There's a really simple trick how to boost your CTR...
If you can read german, you can look at the article on my site: http://lionstarr.freeprojekt.de/wordpress/?p=35 but for the English ones, I'll try to translate the article. The thing is, if you put Images above you Google Ads people see them and click on the ads. It's not really forbidden from google, but they now do change the number of ads in the formats, so it does not look like the pictures have to do sth. with the ads. May you try that trick, I think It'll boost your CTR. I myself can't use it because th ads are in the wrng place and I'm too lazy to cahnage that!
greetings,
lionstarr

2 things.

1) Could you explain why putting images near ads will generate more clicks?

2) DO you know what google think about this trick?

The best way to boost CTR is to integrate adsense into your content which means no borders of the adsense block, make the link the same color as your link color and text the same color as your content. Besides this, put your adsense block close to your own links. By this way, I increased my CTR 3%.

I think the main reason it works well on some sites is because it draws the attention to the ads, and people think they are clicking on inside links. In my opinion, this trick works well if you promote hard goods on your site, but not so well for information site that are more general.
