What made your site take off Adsense wise?

My website is making a very small amount a day, but a nice amount when I think of it as an extra bit of ££ when I look at it over the year. While I have seen growth in terms of hits and Adsense over the last two months, I feel my next target (to get $10 in a day) is looking hard to reach. I was wondering what was it that took your site off the ground so you started earning a nice amount on Adsense? and are there any tips you could give me to help my site take off. I currently get around 200 hits on Budster and 700 on AG a day, however this is not growing and I fear it will fall, despite me updating the sites almost daily.brbrThanks this site has proved a valuable tool so far.brbrbr

One thing you can do is researche the high paying keywords in your niche and build a few pages around them.

You also need to build a lot of backlinks to your site to increase your link popularity and your traffic.

It has never been one thing. But if I had to choose one, I would say: time. Older sites tend to have more content and be more established. Of course, you need more than just time to have the site take off. But it helps.

Also I want to ask:brLet's say "mortgage" is a high paying keyword and I know a lot about the mortgage business. But there are so many professional sites on this subject. Is it rather useless for me build a site with content about mortgage loans? Wouldn't it be hard for me to get traffic to my site since there are so many other well-developed sites?

If you can write some unique articles on mortgages, post as many of as you can them to your blog and website. Start building huge content rich sites around the mortgage business. Also submit your articles to article directories such as goarticles.com and ezinearticles.com. This will build backlinks to your site increasing your page rank and search engine rank in all the major search engines. Make sure you use consistant good keywords for your anchor text that you want to rank well for.

As for finding additional high paying keywords, check out http://www.wordtracker.com/topkeywords.html, then use overtures keyword bidding tool for each keyword you want to focus on and see what advertisers are paying for them. If you have an adwords account, use the keyword tool in your account. It will also generate more keywords and tell you the competition and popularity. Obviously, the more competition, them higher the value of the keyword.

High paying adsense keywords have been diluted significantly since google allows advertisers to bid separately on adsense content sites. As an advertiser myself, I can tell you I will bid 20-30 cents on the dollar when compared to my google network only bids.

That said, I do have a few sites that consistantly get $0.50 per click. Occasionally I'll see a click for $2.00, but many more in the $0.10 range.

Thanks this site has proved a valuable tool so far.

On AG, I would take off the Google Search box, the text box, and the smaller 2 ad box on the right. Then put a nice 728x90 ad on the bottom since many surfers will scroll down to read the entire page.

I have a gaming site also and I find the click through rate and earnings per click to be very very low.

You've done a nice job with the colors and layout. Problem is, every link one your page takes you off your site. You may want to consider buy a bulk pack of java games that you can install onto your own site to keep visitors. Check out hotscripts.com or ebay.com

I'll have to finish this later. Just got a call from a hot girl, it is friday night you know!

When it comes to adsense, there's no replacement for placement. If you check out http://www.allmags4free.com you'll see a ton of Adsense objects. Most of them get 1-2% CTR which is OK but if you go to a magazine offer, there's a 300px block right beside the exit links and that thing gets over 5% CTR! Try to incorporate differnt object sizes in your website and make them blend in with the rest of your site. You don't want them invisible necessarily, but don't make them stand out as ads. They should just look like other links on your site
