Worried about a friend that uses my website......
I have just started using Adsense and want to eventually make some extra pocket change from it. But now I am worried. The first thing is because when first put Adsense on my site I did click a couple of the ads innocently and I used the search because I wanted to see how the search worked. But I am not really worried that much about that because that was entirely my fault if something comes of it. brbrWhat I am worried about is that I have only had this for less than a week and I notced that one day it went from 20 cents to like $13 for serch terms. Well come to find out one of my friends has been using my search bar to search the web and clicked some ads that she as intersted in. The ads sche clicked on were ones about the cancer her dad has and those searcg terms much be high paying because she only clicked 1 or 2 ads. But my site has nothing to do about this cancer. Should I tell her not to do that anymore. brbrI am not sure how Google handles things like this because I didn't tell her to do this she just did this because she looks at my site.brbrAm I just over reacting?brbr

My advice would be to be proactive, and contact Google about it. Better in the long term to be penalized for a few clicks, and ensure that you won't be out of the program, entirely.
The advice you see a lot is don't let friends (or enemies) even know about your site, and if they do, to tell them not to click on the ads. There are a number of reports in the past of Google being very reasonable, when someone comes to them, first. Otherwise, any kind of odd pattern could get you the boot. |

+1 for mondine's advice. I did the exact same thing and immediately wrote Google and told them when I clicked and how many times. They wrote me back within a few hours, gave me a slap on the wrist ( quoted TOS and said dont do it again ) and that was it.
Just don't expect to get away with it on a regular basis |
