Google Checkout as CC Gateway?

I'm wondering about Google Checkout, I run a bunch of ecommerce sites and I was thinking about switching to google to process, but then I realized that they are more like a PayPal thing than a credit card processor/gateway.... or are they?brbrSo far, it looks like this: Your uses add items to your cart and when they are ready to check out, they are taken to google to fill out their credit card info. It works but its unprofessional.brbrI'm wondering if google has a way to register with google checkout on your own site and process it all server-to-server (php curl, specifically), like my current method of processing credit cards (authorize.net).brbrOr will they fall to the same shortcoming thats plagued PayPal?brbrAny inspiration would be greatly span style="font-size: 12pt;" times="" new="" roman="" ;=""appreciated/span.brbrThanks!brbr(p.s. PayPal does have a server-to-server processing method, but its an extra $40 a monthimg src="/richedit/smileys/1.gif" border="0"

We were actually looking into doing the same thing for a service my company developed. However, after many hours of reading API documentations, we realized that it was not possible. The API simply does not allow you to integrate Checkout in that fashion (this was a few months ago, it might have changed since then).
