GDS Did Not Start Up Correctly

Mosttimes whenI turn on my PC(Windows XP) I get an Error message saying "Google Desktop Search Did Not Start Up Correctly". I can then start it by Start Menull Programsand then when ISave My Preferences in Display SettingsieDesktop Display it happens again next time I start up.(Display is set to None). I tried Reinstallbut it is still happening. Can Anybody help with whats wrong.

I have this problem also.

I amon my third, faulty, installation of Google Desktop Search V3. The first time around, I have forgotten. Last time, I got the "Google Desktop Search Did Not Start Up Correctly" message, tho I could not start it via the Start menu.

On this third installation it simply does not start properly. No error message this time. When I click on its icon on my desktop or via Start Button, my computer makes the sounds for opening a program, then closing a program, all in half a second.

I can start Google Desktopby finding it (two entries, I find) under the Processes tab in Windows Task Manager (ctrl+alt+delete) and clicking on End Process. THEN it will start by clicking its shortcut icon or via the Start Button.

If it keeps on like this I will stop it starting with Windows, and start it myself...

I have been to the google web site and they know they have a problem, but do not yet have an answer. They have a diagnostic program to run that will supply them with info to help fix problem. Go to Google.com and followlinks to contact them about desktop problems.That's the best that can be done for now as far as I know.
