Problems with GD + Google web

I have just got a new pc where GD was preinstalled. For some reason I can not search the web with google on this PC. If I uninstall GD, then web search works, but I after I reinstalled GD again, I could not search the web. I can access the main Google page, but when I tries to search it just hangs. I can use the "I'm feeling lucky" button, but I usually don't like to use it.

Can someone help me?

Who is the pc manufacture?brWhich version of IE are you using?br

I'm using IE 6.0.2900. The PC is a IBM Thinkpad T60

Which version of Google Desktop are you using? You can find this info from Google Desktop About page.

Hi. the version of GD is: "FONT size=1Google Desktop 4.2006.0825.1629-en-pb"/FONT
FONT size=1/FONT
FONT size=1I haven't tried another browser yet, but will do shortly/FONT

Just tried with the latest Opera. Same problem
