Manipulating GDS's Index

Hi,

Is there any information out there on how to munipulate Google Desktop Search's Index? To clarify, I DON'T want to add a new file type, or a new datasource. I need to be able to actually go into the index structure and modify it. Adding, deleting, updating index entries.

Any help will be really, really appriciated.

Thanks,
-F

I've never heard of this being done, but I would find it useful too. I hope someone out there has an answer!

I know how to delete but still have questions

You can delete index entries by choosing "delete from index" on the search page. I guess you add something by adding a new file, etc. I'm having trouble with something that was already indexed, I renamed the file, and the index doesn't seem to get updated. Anyone had this problem?
