Google Desktop with Vista

I just got my new laptop running Vista, and it comes with Google Desktop. I have it set up so there is a search field on my taskbar. When I perform search queries using this search bar, it returns the search results in an IE web browser, even though I have Firefox set as my default browser. Does anyone know how I can set it up so when I search using the google searchbar on my taskbar, it will return the search results in Firefox? Thanks for your help.

me too!

I thought it was actually my default browser that was screwed up, but its not - you're not alone.

Its really pissing me off actually! I was so quick to blame MS (and maybe i still can), but this seems like its googles problem right now!

You can just hide google's search bar, or uninstall google desktop, and then right click on the task bar, got to tool bars, and Address bar. It will put a bar there that does the same thing in terms of web searches except opens if Firefox.

Thats what I ended up doing.

uninstall does not help me

I just uninstalled (completely) and reinstalled - it's still using IE.

It may be the same place it stores it, but it launches IE from:
- the ctrl-ctrl popup for web searches
- when i click on a link from an RSS feed

Both, very annoying!!! Any other thoughts?

UPDATE: I just followed the advice in google's real forum and it worked: http://groups.google.com/group/Googl...ebfd09794eeb9a
