Indexing "complete" but only 1/2 my files are indexed?
Hi,
I'm running Google Desktop on a Virtual PC 2007 session running Windows 2000 (to keep everything isolated for a research project). The Virtual PC session has >40GB free from a 50GB virtual disc formatted with NTFS and 512MB RAM dedicated to it. I've set up a folder with ~500,000 smallish HTML files (totalling around 2GB) that I want to index, and after a few days Google Desktop told me that indexing was complete (no error messages at all), but the index status page tells me that ~250,000 files are indexed (and these files are from the folder I'm trying to index, so it's not a problem with accessing the folder). I've just uninstalled, deleted the index files, reinstalled, and tried re indexing with the files split between 4 folders, but it's telling me it's 80% complete @ ~200,000 files indexed, so I don't think that has helped. The index files are much smaller than the 2GB limit I have seen mentioned on some posts, so I don't think that's a problem. Any ideas on: What the problem could be? Would there be any indexing status or error log I could check? Can I get a list of all the files that have been indexed, so I can investigate the others further?
