Why does Desktop Search need internet to work
Google Desktop Search used to work on my computer even when I would not allow it to access the internet. Lately, it will not. I will not use it until I can be assured that the index it has built of my computer files will not be sent to some unknown place in cyberspace. I see no reason why it now needs to go to the internet to display files that are only on my computer. I fear that my stuff will be available to prying eyes somewhere. Can someone tell me what the story is or should I uninstall Google Desktop to be safe?
