Hi, I've been trying to solve this for two days and I'm nearly desperate now.
Accidentally, I discovered that when I used the google box in the side bar, GD returned among the results mails that had been deleted long tiem ago. Since I didnīt want this to happend I entered preferences and set them to: (I have the spanish version so sorry if the terms do not correspond exactly) 1st tab, Local Indexation: Aditional functions enabled Elements included (all off --> this should make GD retrive 0 matches?) ... Eliminate deletd archives from the results. Marked 2nd tab, google account (nothing used) 3rd tab, view: Show as side bar Fast acces window enabled Fast search: Show results in desktop while tipying Search for text in mails and documents With thissetings the results are normal, but when I uncheck the box on tab 1, Enable aditional functions for Google Destop, and I type something in the search box in the side bar, no results shoud be shown. Well, I see how GD shows maches among my mail for those words!. Even showing delete mails!! And with these settings GD shouldn't be searching in my mail, and of course not my deleted mail. And I donīt know how to stop it!!! I have tried everything: change the settings as told in the privacy page at google, deleted the GD files at user\Appdata\local\google\google desktop\... I have unistalled GD as admin for all users and deleting all index files. After that I made a search and deleted all archives and folders containing "google". And installed again, And the results are the same, when tipying something in the box results are shown in the desktop. (and I dont have the option to say "don't show these results anymore" because on the options I have set "not to use the aditional functions" so no results should be shown.... I donīt know where google is saving those mails but itīs anoying! Im quite desperate for these and I think the only solution is to uninstall it and use microsoft side bar, however I know that if anytime, anyone installs the GD sidebar again they will be able to search all my mail, even the deleted mails.
