Why are only certain areas in high resolution?
When are the images updated, if ever?
[]What do you get if you register?

Because that's how the images were when they were taken, if you go look at the copyright information when you're looking at that area, go complain to them to get higher resolution photos.

And like before, go complain to the people who took the photos and Google may update them soon after.

And the features you get:
* GPS data import - read tracks and waypoints from select GPS devices
o Note 1: Verified support for Magellan and Garmin devices only
o Note 2: Does not support export of tracks or waypoints to a GPS
* Higher resolution printing - greater than screen resolution
* Customer support via email - not just website
