Yea, its pretty cool It offers infared views of a slect portion of the Red planet’s
surfface. Kinda cool, allows you to zoom in quite a bit, and, unlike
the moon, Mars is not made of cheese. However, if you zoom out all the
way, you’ll notice that you’re really only looking at a tiny strip of
Mars, probably one photograph just strung togther in a loop. Oh well,
its cool either way.

Actually, it is all of Mars. It looks like one photo stitched into a loop because planets don't have east and west poles, only north and south poles. Instead of stopping at 180 degrees east and west, Google just repeats the image over and over.

And adding to what GameMaker said, the image is repeated so many times because Mars is much smaller than Earth, and I see no special changes to basic interface of Google Maps to accomodate that difference.
