UK insult to MERCHANT MARINERS

* On today's BBC news, it a bad news to learn that the government is considering a proposal to to deny some ships from their names as ships & consider them floating rigs or other, so their workers should pay income tax!
* I was shocked to hear (while they were talking to one of the captains)that, the new 2nd officer on British ships earns only £18,000/yr.
* THIS IS A COMPLETE INSULT, TO THOSE WELL EDUCATED, (spend nearly 4 yrs in theory & practise )HIGH TECHED, DOING A RISKY JOB, HAVE NO WEEKENDS, NO BANK HOLIDAYS, DOING 24HRS SHIFTS, AFTER COMPLETING THEIR WATCHES, THEY SOMETIMES GO STANDBY WHEN ENTERING/LEAVING PORTS & THEN STARTING CARGO WATCHES OR OTHERS(depends of ship's sort).
* A non educated worker in a clothing factory, cleaning cotton or ironing is getting more than £18,000/yr, while near home, having week ends/bank holidays & overtime!
** Bus drivers made a strike last Friday for £30,000, while near home with week ends/B holidays + overtime.
** train drivers after only 6 months training they earn £33,000/yr, while having w ends/B holidays + overtime.
** police officers earn £30,000 after only 3 months training, while having W ends/B holidays + overtime.
*** I INVITE THOSE MARINE OFFICERS & ENGINEERS TO STRIKE FOR BETTER SALARIES, TO BE MORE VALUED & FOR INTEGRITY TO STAY HIGH!
