Lightbulb Microsoft Office

I am using Windows XP Home Edition. I am using Microsoft Office 2003 Profession Edition. 2 weeks ago, some of office files have been corrupted; I don't know how it happened. I tried to repair it via using Office CD-ROM, but no vain. When I click on any program of office like word, excel, a dialog box opens which has message preparing to install and afterwards, message box displays short error. When I tried to remove or change in Add/Remove program utility of windows, then there is nothing to progress. When I tried to uninstall it via CD-ROM of Office, message displays that Uninstaller package does not support. Kindly help me in this matter.

If you have nothing to backup, like self made templates etc, delete the office folder completely. That will be found in "C:\program files\". Then run Install/Uninstall Utility and try to uninstall it. If still the error occures, goto http://www.tune-up.com/ and download tuneup utilities Trial version, Install it and run "1 CLick Maintenance" after it completes, resolve all the errors and then open Tuneup main window and find registry cleaner and run it and then clean registry from errors( a trial version will do all things 4 you but if u think, you may buy). After that again try to Uninstall Office. If still error occures, use TuneUp Uninstall utility. (But use it at a last recourse). DOnt use TuneUp Uninstaller first of all these steps.

I think it will work.

I ran into the same problem...

You'll have to ferret through the Microsoft "knowledge base" (yeah, that's what they call it, heh, heh) to find instructions for a fully truly complete uninstall then you'll have to fully and truly and completely re-install the booger from scratch. And I hope you still have that ferociously long license code that came with it (taped to the box or the back of the CD case)...a true groaner!

Microsoft always says "Contact your system administrator." 3/4 of the people in the world, I'll bet, who read that danged message, are PC owners and therefore "system administrators" and are in a tight spot and don't know what the heck to do.

Yes, I have OpenOffice installed. It's great stuff. It can save Word docs too. And PDF. And ODT (which is OpenOffice's special doc, growing in world favor).

Thing is, SOMETIMES, some very very very few times, OpenOffice fails to save a Word document in a form EVERY release of Word can open...so it's not exactly a failsafe solution.

I wish you the best of luck. I was fortunate.
