Desktop Search? (Mac...)
Hi All:
I just downloaded Google desktop to my new Mac. When I double click the command menu, it comes up as promised but only searches the internet. How do I get it to search my computer as opposed to the net? Any help appreciated. H |

You just need to wait. By default GDS Mac will display both desktop counts and web counts when you do a search through the quick search box. When you have desktop results it will automajically display those for you. If you aren't seeing any results for items that you know you have on your computer you haven't waited long enough for GDS Mac to finish it's initial index, which can take some time.
EDIT: Oh yeah, also, you need to change the preference so that it searches your desktop instead of the web. Last edited by dualsub2006; 05-06-2008 at 11:13 PM. |
