How Do You Stop Google Toolbar From Updating Without Consent?

Toolbar Version 6 keeps inflicting itself on me and I can find no way to prevent it other than complete uninstall. Sadly Version 6 lacks the nifty "find" feature of version 5. When 6 was first introduced and installed automatically, I was able to uninstall it and reinstall 5. Now after a month long reprieve version 6 has tried to take control of my system. Any ideas how to get 5 back?

If you are using XP or Vista you should find the Google Toolbar app listed when you bring up the Add Remove Programmes function within control panel

It may not possible to get back your version 5.
