    Exclamation GOOGLE TOOLBAR Problem

I have uninstalled the GOOGLE toolbar and reinstalled and still get the same problem.
I am using IE7. Lately with the GOOGLE toolbar showing when I click my IE icon to load IE, I ususally get an IE window that is all white and it will not load my home page.
If I load IE windows multiple times after getting the white page IE, will successfully load my web page.
If I opt to not show the GOOGLE toolbar on my IE page I don't have this problem!

I have altered the toolbar options to only a few options and it made no difference.
I would be glad to use a downlevel toolbar but can't seem to find one earlier than version 6.
    Can anyone offer help?

Does last night's Toolbar release fix this?

    Hi jsfinch,

Thanks for the head's up. We just released an update to Toolbar for IE last night, after you posted this. Do you know if uninstalling then reinstalling this new version fixes the issue you're seeing? You can get the latest release from the Toolbar homepage:

    Google Toolbar

If it doesn't fix this, I'd like to look into it further:

    - Does temporarily disabling Toolbar's dictionary compression add-on fix this? To do so, follow these steps:

    1. Click the IE Tools menu.
    2. Select "Manage Add-ons," then choose "Enable or Disable Add-ons."
    3. Select "Google Dictionary Compression sdch."
    4. Click the "Disable" radio button.
    5. Click "OK."

    - Are you running any other IE add-ons? If you are, what other add-ons are enabled?

    - When did this issue start happening? For example, did you recently update IE7 or install Toolbar or other software?

    Thanks,

    Brian (Toolbar Support at Google)

You could uninstall all of your browser add-ons (toolbars), then upgrade to IE8. But make certain you get the latest IE8 patch from MS download site. Then you will find that the Google toolbar will work fine when you re-install it. Or just use the latest Chrome web browser.
