Google Talk gmail link problem

When I click the GMail icon at the bottom of the GTalk window, it takes me to an https:// address. However, it fails to load. Changing the https:// to http:// seems to fix the problem. Any way to solve this without having to remove the 's' every time I use the link?

Are you using IE, Andrew?
I don't know the answer to your question, but I wonder if you've tried going to Internet Options, Security tab;
click on "Trusted Sites", and the "Sites" button.
There, you can uncheck the option to require server verification (https) for sites in that zone.
Of course, you'd make sure talk.google.com is listed there. (Any that nothing 'funny' got in the list.)
Might be worth a try.

Wait, hang on:
When I open the link, IE loads. Noooooo!
Never mind that question for now. New one first:
How do I make it open in Firefox by default? (Firefox is already my default browser).
