Problem!!!
Hi all,brbrIs there any solution to this problem?brI`m not able to install Google Talk, in Windows 98. Nor is there any build, for Linux.brCould this problem be solved/fixed/..atleast hacked, so that i can access it in windows 98?brbrSolutions are most welcome.brThanks in advance.brbrbr

The official Google Talk requires Windows 2000 or Windows XP.
There's a host of other IM clients that enable you to chat, just like Talk, using the Jabber protocol. Quote:

yup...
yup..., i`ve been using GAIM, for yahoo, through Jabber Protocol, for an year.brbrBut, i`m not able to get to Google, using Gaim, somehow......!!brBut, anyway...i`ll keep trying...brbrThanks anyway. brbr

Yes, I had the same problem, using Win98. I couldn't get Gaim and Gtalk working, either.
I've since got Trillian (but only the 'pro' version can use the Jabber protocol). But prior to that, I did have success using Miranda, a very slim IM program that worked well with Google Talk and Win98.

Well, Thanks buddy. brI was looking for something like that..brI also tried PSI, but, it was not connecting to the Jabber network, for some unknown mystic reason...that almost made me wonder.....img src="/richedit/smileys/5.gif" border="0" brbranyway.... i`ll try Miranda......brbrThanks for reminding
