Gtalk avatar format?

Maybe I am missing something obvious here. But I use trillian here with the custom jabber plugin available on the CS forums to login to gtalk normally. Now any time I go to change my avatar in trillian its a major tossup but most of the time jabber returns the status message:br

No, I don't think so. You can use an avatar in any format, as long as its a picture. What format is your desired avatar in?

The specific one I have been trying to load is a basic 100x100 256 color gif. It was saved out in photoshop's 'save for web' dialog with all default options save for the 256 colors.

Strange. I don't understand. GIFs work fine on GTalk for me.

try something in the settings.

The default GTalk images on my version are .bmp
Maybe you could try them?

Oh, I didn't really notice your last post. You're trying to put up a 256 bit GIF? You can't. You can only put 32 bit GIFs as avatars in GTalk.
