I think the Google Talk is very simple, and I think simple is good....
haven't really try it yet, hope will be as good as the MSN.

I've just tested it with a few friends...
It's got a very nice audio quality...equivalent to the one i already use on MSN.

My point of view is that it is a little too simple, in its interface, functionnalities...but hey...it's Beta software !

Test context :

Multiples users in the SAME country
Internet Link : Cable : 10M Downstream / 1M Upstream
WinXP Pro / 1Gb Ram

i've been using it for a little while and it seems good, its quite simple and basic at the minute but i still like it

Yes they have officially announced it Elliot. Well atleast the gmail and Gtalk teams have on google's blog:
