Google Talk - Jabber clients!

Ah, it's great how Google chose to use Jabber, as many predicted.
It's the most logical move for Google, a protocol that a large variety of clients can use.

I've successfully connected to Google Talk using iChat and Adium, both OSX applications, it runs seamlessly. In iChat I have successfully used Video and Audio Chat through the network but It may be just the client to client connection as the other people were on iChat aswell.

Google Talk itself does not support video which is a dissapointment along with it's lack of multiperson conversations.

This could very well be the MSN messenger-Killer but there will be much work to be done before the great MSN messenger falls. Until then we should try to support this as much as possible, convert your friends and family.

Google has proven to make very successful products, as Gmail did to Hotmail I believe it could do the same to MSN messenger, AOL instant messenger, Yahoo Messenger, and the almost dead ICQ.

Using The Jabber/XMPP protocol is a very cool move from Google making their Google Talk an almost 100% Jabber compatible service.
But for now it's not possible to add other jabber contacts to your GTalk contact list nor add a GTalk contact to an "usual" jabber roster.
