I think that GC should incorperate a gTalk ID for our profiles(like there is for ICQ,MSN,AIM,YIM)... Who's with me?!

I agree. I believe this has been mentioned a time or two before, somewhere. PM Darren and/or Intelliot asking them.

Yeah, it has been mentioned before. But I don't think they want to display any IM addresses, since the incident a little while back,
where some phisher was impersonating a GC admin on Messenger.

I think it would be safe to start gradually reshowing IM information, as long as we make sure and educate all of our members about phishing and online identity theft prevention.

I feel that we should include IM handles back in profiles, and allow gTalk to be one of them! however, I also think we should inform people that an admin/moderator, would never ask for their handle/email/password, no matter what! This is just my humble oppinion O_O

I think a lot of people would like to have that back, but there has to be a disclaimer where it absolutely can't be missed. Maybe right on the Profile page, so that people will have to see it, before they enter their own PM addresses.

I'd also suggest that when GC gets a 'confirmation' query, when someone has registered for a service using "Googlecommunity.com]; that the address be confirmed, taken possession of, and the password changed immediately.

But, back to the original question. Any chance that a Google Talk ID will be added?

Yeah I guess something like that could be used.

As for the GTalk ID it's not that hard to add and it's been mentioned before, I've already seen other forums with it so I dont see why not!
