Google Talk features
I think Google Talk has a lot of catching up to do with MSN messenger...it does not offer nealry as many gadgets as it's Microsoft rival. They should add things like display pics, multiplayer games (to play with the people they are chatting to).
I also think that they should publicise it a bit more, as hardly anyone knows about GoogleTalk (or are google going to do this when they release the non-beta version?) |

I think you answered your own question there. This is still pretty early in the Beta phase, and I imagine the final product will look quite different.
The way that the current word-of-mouth is building, they probably won't need to publicise a lot when that time comes. After all, all they need to do is stick one prominent mention on their own search page, and that'd be as effective as a lot of other advertising. Besides, I rather like the cut-down version that exists. MSN is crammed full of useless bloat. |

I agree display pics might be nice, but, I hate when someone uses a display pic of something other than themselves, excepting a logo that represents them, an avatar of sorts... As for the multiplayer games, they sort of piss me off... They create too much lag within the conversation, they demand your entire attention from all other conversations, and worst of all, they look shitty! Hell, I like the SNES better than flash games... Maybe Google should make two versions, one for lamers with way too much processor and time, and a lite version for people who would rather use GAIM in the first place...

none of your friends use it probally because it is so new. I love using it for calling people over the internet becasue of the quality. Yahoo Voice's quality SUXS....its sad when this is in beta and is so much better. Also, msn messenger has to many useless features and i wouldn't want gtalk to get them.
