However, I would assume that Gtalk would be preferable to MSN if you were concerned about system resources. One of the things that people often mention as an advantage, is that it is a 'leaner' program, without a lot of the unecessary (and often unwanted) bloat of Messenger; that still allows a very nice, clear voice connection for live conversation (as well as the usual text messages). |

I prefer Google Talk, but I have to use MSN Messenger because others use it. My biggest gripe about the service is that you can impersonate others by using "Unverified" email addresses.

Is someone is looking for a nice light weight im program that supports everything through different plug-ins, go to Miranda IM. I used it a while ago when they first started and I am actually trying out the new version now.

I'm currently stuck on MSN because all my clients and friends are on it. Personally I HATE it. I miss the good old days of ICQ ( i still have my original 5 digit ICQ number ) but of course there's no point in using it anymore.
Googletalk is great but for the same reason I don't use it |

Now that GTalk is just usual Jabber server, you can use transports to other networks. And it's not a problem that GTalk server doesn't have transports, you can use ones from other servers. |
